Who is Ivanhoe of Sweden?

Ivanhoe of Sweden was founded in Gällstad in 1946 by Martin Göthager in the heart of the Swedish knitting industry. Since then, the company has remained in the Göthager family and is currently run by Martin's grandchildren- Anders, Anna and Karin. Ivanhoe produces most of their items in their home factory in Gällstad which Nate and Leslie have visited many times. 

How we discovered Ivanhoe.

We first visited Ivanhoe in 2018 as part of a Scandinavian Outdoor Group tour of Western Sweden. We were blown away by the quality of the wool and Ivanhoe's style. They quickly became our top selling Swedish brand!

Why we love them.

Have we mentioned the wool? Ivanhoe brings the quality whether it is in summer or winter...yes, we said summer. As it turns out, a thin merino wool t-shirt (for men and women) is the coolest thing around during the heat. Wool wicks moisture away while being breathable and the merino is so soft against your skin. Also, due to wool's anti-microbial and anti-fungal qualities, it does not need to laundered frequently (or at all). That makes wool a centerpiece of any of our travel wardrobes! We also love Ivanhoe's sweaters, like the Lindsay for women and their windbreaker line that was developed for Scottish golf clubs and all-year and all-weather golfing.
